Fundraising for a ministry or nonprofit organization can be a daunting task. There are many moving pieces that all need to fit together.
There are tasks which need to be done constantly, week after week. There are big projects that pop up at regular intervals throughout the year. There are fires that ignite by surprise and need to be put out.
There is writing to do. There are mailings to stuff, calls to make, and tedious database entries to work on.
Staying on top of all of these things is tough in a small development shop. You might be a team of one, or less than one - development might just be one of many things that you do for the ministry.
It is easy to come to the end of your work day...
Today, on the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord, we remember how the angel Gabriel came to Mary in Nazareth and gave her the best news of her life. An unfriendly Roman empire, the shame of being an unmarried mother, and the doubt of being able to care for a baby...all of these worries very likely hit Mary like a ton of bricks in those first moments..
But what was Mary's response?
"Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word."
Mary embraced the opportunity along with the worry and accepted the role of a lifetime.
Right now, how many of us are feeling uncertain, anxious and afraid? COVID-19 has the undivided attention of the entire world and life as we knew it has changed. Churches are closed and ministries are no longer open to the public. Businesses are shutting down,...

Petrus is announcing a new program...
By Andrew Robison, President of Petrus Development
Petrus Development has been working with Catholic ministries around the country since 2004 to build sustainable development programs, and we are pleased to announce that we recently served our 100th ministry. While I am proud of this good work, and know that tens of thousands of lives have been impacted by the efforts of these ministries, I can’t help but feel the same way as the priests who we serve…I know there is so much more work to be done and many more souls to be won for Christ.

The Petrus Annual Manual is a new initiative that provides organizations with a proven system, the educational tools to help staff understand and execute the strategies, and on-going guidance and support from professionals...
"In a conference, what I'm really looking for is the practical TOOLS on how to do your job well and the MOTIVATION to go out and be ready to get back to work. I've gotten both of those things from Petrus. I'm really excited to get back home and HUSTLE and really put my all into it."
