When I tell people about my job, the response is almost always a bemused look followed by the statement, “I could never ask people for money.” Awkward as it is, this provides a wonderful opportunity to tell the person that fundraising for the Church is not about asking people for money. Rather, it is about forming relationships and sharing a mission, a vital mission. I love my job. I love connecting people to projects. I love sharing a vision with a community working hard to realize a goal. I love talking about my own faith and my duty in building the Kingdom of God. As a byproduct of these relationships and collaborative projects, I help to find the resources to make hopes and dreams come true. By no means is it without challenges or roadblocks, but nothing worthwhile ever is.

Robison is an established leader in fund development across many sectors of the nonprofit community. He has worked for over 12 years in development roles in Catholic campus ministry, higher education and academic medicine. Most recently at the Texas A&M Foundation and Texas A&M College of Medicine, Robison has been a Petrus consultant since 2012. What is the most important role of Petrus?
Petrus Development exists for one major reason: to help our organizations raise more money so they are better equipped to offer more ministry and bring more people to Christ. The organizations that we work with are good organizations doing good work. They are run by good people with hearts for Christ and for the Church. Our role is very simple. We want to help them hire passionate people with the potential to become great fundraisers and then train and equip those people to lead their development programs to new heights.
