Position Description:
The Catholic Diocese of Richmond is now accepting applications for its Campus Ministry Fellowship Program for the 2026–2028 cycle.
This Program is open to all recent college graduates who want to get hands on ministry experience while pursuing a graduate degree. The campus ministry Fellow serves for one to two years on a particular campus ministry. They participate as part of a team led by the Local Director of Campus Ministry to further evangelization efforts on Campus. They will serve the campus ministry in a number of ways and at the discretion of the Local Director. When possible, continuing education will be provided in the areas of theology or pastoral ministry.
Over the course of the program the Fellow will grow in knowledge and practice so that they are able to fully serve as a campus minister upon completion of the program
Responsibilities:
Upon consultation with the Local Director, various areas of responsibility will be assigned in the areas of Evangelization, Word, Worship, Community, and Service.
Respond to the pastoral needs of students as needed.
Developing student leadership and guiding student leaders through mentorship and/or discipleship
Works on graduate level coursework in the areas of theology or pastoral ministry.
Supervising student programs and activities (including but not limited to music ministry, small groups, retreats, community service projects, alternative break trips)
Providing logistical support, as necessary, for activities and events proposed by the student leadership and approved by the Local Director.
Collaborate with the Diocesan Office for Evangelization by participating in diocesan events (i.e. Campus Ministry Summit, Annual Spring Retreat, Diocesan Work Camp) and campus ministry staff events (i.e. Winter Meeting and Spring Retreat and Conference).
Perform all other duties as assigned.

This is a full-time (40 hours a week) non-exempt professional ministry position. Night and weekend work is necessary primarily during the academic year. The position also requires travel to campus ministers’ meetings and other diocesan events, reimbursable through the approved budget.
The fellows will work regularly with the Local Director of Campus Ministry, the Diocesan Associate Director of the Office for Evangelization, the Campus Ministry team, and other Diocesan Campus Ministry staff members.
